We had a wonderful time at Kristiansand Dyrepark (Zoo) this Sunday, and even though everything outside was covered with snow, we still got to see few animals: lions, tigers, kangaroos, giraffes, white fox, an otter, owls, and a few more. Here are some photos of a feeding tiger, a giraffe and some cute kangaroos.
Say Hello to my little friend(s)

Norwegian Winter Wonderland
December 26, 2009 · Leave a Comment

My boyfriend took these beautiful shots today from my mom’s terrace (go here to see photos of the same view during summertime). It’s been snowing for a while, and this was probably the first snow timeout and sun glimpse since we came to Norway December 23rd. Despite the hassle for those who have to shuffle snow and dig out their cars everyday (I feel for you), I’m really enjoying having a white Christmas for the first time in many years. Also, I am very happy to spend time with my dear family and friends, and I’m excited that my boyfriend could come with me to Norway this year. I wish you all a Merry Christmas (or whichever holiday you’re celebrating), and a promising Happy New Year! Oh, and thanks MUCHO for reading my blog! ![]()

Alicia Keys – Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart
December 7, 2009 · Leave a Comment
I had no choice but to get this song on iTunes; and it’s now playing on repeat while I’m writing my paper. It’s from Alicia Keys’ new album Element of Freedom, which at the moment can be pre-ordered, though is expected to be released December 15th.
Here’s the video…but first, turn your volume all the way up!.

I LOVE her outfits in this video; but even better, is how the video resembles early 1990s hiphop and reggae videos. Enjoy!

Song Thai Restaurant in Brooklyn
December 4, 2009 · Leave a Comment
My favorite Thai restaurant in New York is Song, located on 295 5th avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn. The food is cheap, so I typically pay around $7-8 for an entree; though noodles, fried rice and appetizers are of course cheaper. My favorite entrees are beef with basil sauce, and chicken in coconut curry sauce; and when I’m not hungry enough for a full meal, I often get the appetizer with chicken wings and Thai BBQ sauce…yummy! The food is basically delicious, and you get a lot on your plate for the little money you pay. Though I don’t only come here because of the food and price, but also because I enjoy the atmosphere and design. It’s cozy with dimmed lights, and the interior is modern and simplistic. You can watch the chefs cook on high flames in the open kitchen, and during the weekend they often have a DJ spinning records. In addition, there’s a pleasant garden in the back, which is ideal for warm summer nights and daytime brunches. However, this place is very popular, so if you go Friday or Saturday night around the busiest time (7-9pm), be prepared to wait 20 min – 1hour to get a table. I recommend you spend this time at the bar, and enjoy a $7-8 drink or glass of wine (cheaper than Manhattan!).
Unfortunately, Song does not have a homepage, but to see their menu posted by New York Magazine, click here, and for restaurant info and reviews click here.

Here are the photos I took during the show (I would have taken more, but my camera battery died).

Nude MAC Lipstick & Covergirl Lashblast Mascara
November 30, 2009 · Leave a Comment
My current makeup favorites are MAC Lipstick Satin Myth (nude) and Covergirl Lashblast Mascara (black). The lipstick is only $14 at Macys, still, the quality is great. I love that it’s matt, but to change it up, I sometimes add some see-through or light pink lip-gloss. Regarding the mascara, I usually get Diorshow Blackout, but wanted to try something cheaper. Lashblast is only $7, and it is much better than I expected. It does not clump or drizzle, and the thick plastic (?) brush is great. Even though you may need more layers than with Diorshow, it is much easier to apply, and you can let the eyelash comb rest. I know I sound like a commercial right now, lol, but it’s the truth!

Macy’s Holiday Window Display 2009
November 27, 2009 · Leave a Comment
First, I hope you all had a very Happy Thanksgiving! I did, and just got back to Brooklyn, after a rather large meal at my “in-laws” in Queens. Now, in regards to the holiday season, I recently posted photos of the Macy’s Holiday Window Display from last year, which you can view by clicking here. Last Saturday evening, after the birthday dinner at Red Lobster, we strolled from Time Square to Herald Square, and stopped at Macy’s to take photos of this year’s wonderful decorations. They have this cool “Write a letter to Santa” concept, where you can customize your own letter by clicking on a touch-screen (see photo 2, 3 and 4), and I believe the letters used for the decorations are real letters written and sent by children. Brilliant idea!
Note: when you have enlarged a photo (by clicking on it), click on the smaller photo at the lower left to see the next photo. Enjoy!

Marciano Sequin Dress
November 26, 2009 · Leave a Comment
I rocked this black sequin Marciano dress at the boyfriend’s birthday dinner last Saturday at Red Lobster (Time Square). It was actually a gift from him my first winter in New York; but sequin is hotter now than ever, so I got that trend under control.
Except for the fact that it’s a hassle to get it cleaned, I think this dress is fab!
